Having lived in East Whittier for 50 years, she was a community icon who helped multiple groups including the Fire Department, the Sheriff's Department, the Lions Club in La Habra, the Soroptimist Club in Whittier and the U.S. Military Mothers in Bedford, Pa., said her oldest son, Robert.
