Mary Wilson Obituary

Mary Ann Wilson, 81, of Torrance, was struck and killed Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, while crossing Pacific Coast Highway at Vincent Street with a group of pedestrians who had just left a Christmas concert at St. James Catholic School and Parish.

She was one of four who have died so far in the crash.

"The community of St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach, and the entire Archdiocese of Los Angeles, ask everyone to join them in prayer during this time of tragedy and grief," according to a statement from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

Aunt Mary Ann, we miss you terribly! I will always hear your special voice in my memory. It always cheered me as a little girl and comforted me when you played cards with my mom. You truly set a fine example of Christian love for us.

With a heavy heart, my family and I would like to send our condolences to the Wilson family. Mary Ann was a loving, generous, kind, and caring woman who was dedicated to her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and her husband, John. I remember how she and her husband was always so caring to both my parents, especially my mother, Julieta. She would visit her in the hospital and was there for us at her funeral. May you both rest in peace. We will miss your beautiful smile and warm personality. You will forever be in our hearts. We thank the Lord for having the honor of knowing Mary Ann and how she touches all of our lives.

This is from Candy and Stan Bowman who sat in front of you on Saturdays at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Hermosa Beach. We were graced by God to know your beautiful, kind, happy, caring Mother and Wife, and blessed ro know your loving Father who is in my prayers constantly. The love between the two of them was so obvious and darling a joy to see! I will forever miss your Mary Ann, all of us here at church will. Always remember that is just a thin veil that separates us from our loved ones and that they watch over us constantly and would want you to celebrate her life as a wife, mother and grandmother. Your entire family is in my prayers, God must have needed her very badly in Heaven for she was such a pure and happy soul. We are all convinced that she and her Guardian Angel went straight to God for her heavenly reward, I will miss her with all my heart. (I am the one with the trach in my throat). I am sending comfort and prayers especially to your Daddy one of the other sweetest persons I have ever met in my life. Love always and forever, Candy
