Glenous Amelia (Kreisler) Absmeier was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 11, 1919 to Reuben and Oma Kreisler and passed away surrounded by family on June 25, 2014. Glenous moved to California at the age of six and was lovingly raised by her aunt and uncle, Sadie and Earl Latz. Glenous' life partner of 60 years, John, whom she met at the age of 15, preceded her in death in 1998. They were married four times to each other, the first time being March 12, 1938, followed by June 23, 1940, March 17, 1941 and June 23, 1988. She loved her family, friends, dogs, the Trojans, baking, luncheons and dinners, white wine, sunglasses, her red BMW, and orchids.

Glenous and John traveled the world seven times and said, "Every day was an adventure." Among her many accomplishments, Glenous was the "hostess with the mostest", working in management for Hostess cakes for 35 years. Glenous served with several organizations including Women's Architectural League, Assistance League of San Pedro, University of Southern California Dames, American Women in Radio and Television, Palos Verdes Library Board, Palos Verdes Art Center, Toberman Auxiliary, the Affinity Group, and many more associations.

Glenous is survived by brother Robert Latz; sons John (Caethe), James (Marie) and daughter Janis; grandchildren Brenda, John, Michael, Erin, Jeff, Jimmy, Deena, Samantha, Gina, Kelly and Christopher; great-grandchildren Nicole, Arianna, Emily, Oliver, Ivy, Karinna, Harper, Brittany, Cory, Tabitha, Luke, Jacob, Colby, Lucie, Sebastian, Malachi, and Diego; and great-great-grandchild Raelyn.

A 'Celebration of Life' service will be held at Los Verdes Golf Club on August 6, 2014 from 1pm to 6pm. In her honor attire is bright and casual. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the charity of your choice.

Glenous and I were great WAL friends. What a energetic person she was. Always involved in something and a loyal WAL member for so many years. I was president in 1966, and we shared so many wonderful times together. My deepest sympathy to all her family. Mary Hennessy, La Canada Flintridge, CA.

I grew up down the street from the Absmeier's house on Rockinghorse and watched their Dobermans many times while they traveled. I have fond memories of Mrs. Absmeier giving us Hostess treats from her work and always waving as she passed by. Both she and her husband were great neighbors and especially friendly to the children.
