I am so saddened to hear this news. I was a graduate student at the University of Houston when your Dad worked there. Although he was not my chair, I remember the many times your parents entertained our group and made us feel so welcomed. I know you will miss her but the memories will last forever.

My partner Marty and I met Ethel Marie and Bob on a cruise in 2003. They came to visit us in Ft Myers FL the next year. We had such a good time with the two of them. They are truly missed.

I never met you Ethel. But I feel I know you through Laina. What a wonderful life you lived. What an inspiring legacy you left.
Rest in peace.

Ethel-Marie stayed with us during her trip to South Africa, when she was Division Director. I remember her sitting on our sofa and saying to me: "you can go to an LLLI Conference, of course you can." And I did! It was a dream come true, and would never have happened without her assumption that of course it would. A loss to her family and the world.
