This is Drew Crissman from Highland CA. I have been trying to get in touch with Allan for years. He was a wonderful friend. I am shocked. I will never forget going with him to Hilton Head in 1988. We were shooting off fireworks and one of them went through his sunroof to his car. Allan was the kind of guy you could count on. I regret that we lost touch after I went into the Air Force and he went to Europe. My prayers go out to his whole familiy.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Allan's family. I have also been working with Allan for the past 9 years. I enjoyed working with Allan on different projects, it would lead to talking about the Atlanta Braves, or talking about our daughters, mine being the same ages. One story Allan shared with me some time ago I still remember and it brings a smile to my face... Your family being on a road trip, had the dog with you. As you are leaving from some quick stop you get a few miles up the road and one of the girls tells Allan that the dog had jumped out, she was the only one who noticed. Allan said she repeated it a few times (he even imitates the way it sounded coming from his daughter), so you all went back to that stop and found your dog. Just the way he relayed that story always makes me smile. I enjoyed talking with Allan, especially about his family. Thanks for those memories, Allan is deeply missed.
I am so sorry for your loss. I am friends with Allan's mother here in Atlanta, GA. Just hearing her talk about him, made me realize what an awesome person he was. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
I worked closely with Allan the last 9 years at DigitalGlobe, but more importantly we were golf buddies, spending hundreds of hours on the course together over the last few years. I miss his friendship already, and my heart goes out to Joanie, Kendall, and Audrey, as well as to everybody else who knew and loved Allan.
My heart sinks, Allan was one of the good ones; my deepest sympathies, may his memory be eternal.
My heart and prayers go out to Allan's friends and family. I knew Allan from Lakeside High. Although I haven't seen him in years, he has always held a special place in my heart. He was one of the sweetest, kindest guys who cared about everyone. I will never forget how his smile lit up the room. He was and is an angel. Thanks for the memories and great times. RIP Allan.
Joanie, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your children, your extended family and friends.
Allan was a sweetheart, and he was so fortunate to have a sweetheart of a family in Joanie, Audrey and Kendall. Our phone and door are always open... 8 am 12 om or 1 am, this week or in 18 months. Sending you much love.
My dearest Joanie and girls,
I have no words to properly express my sympathies and love for all of you. You have all my love and I will see you soon. God Bless you Allan, I know Joanie and the girls love you beyond measure.
I am blessed to be apart of ya's family. Words can
not express the shock of losing Alan. Such a wonderful man. Greg needed to be there with no distractions for You & the Girls. I will be in touch with you soon. My heart goes out to you & all your family.
This is a tragedy beyond recognition. My heart aches. Allan was one of the first people I met when I moved to Colorado back in 2000 and we immediately became friends. That bond will live with me forever. As the years past we didn't hang out as much but when we called each other we would be on the phone for hours just laughing. He was the kind of person that saw humor in everything because he was brilliant, humble, and kind beyond belief. His devotion to his family was evident in everything he did. If you knew Allan, you knew about his family and how much he loved them.
I am sad to hear of your loss. Allan was a good friend to my son John and helped him thru some rough times.
He did have a ready smile, bright eyes and a quick wit. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Joanie, I'm so sorry about your (and our) loss. Allan was a great friend who could make anyone smile with his sense of humor. I'll remember many good times while we lived in Atlanta. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you and your family.
I met Allan when he started at DG so many years ago. I had so much fun working with him over the years and was always appreciative of his positive attitude and unwavering willingness to step in and help others. He also showed tremendous patience with me as I asked endless DB questions while I was getting a masters degree in Database Technologies. His enthusiasm for life and his love for his family and friends will never be forgotten.
We are not all the same. Allan was brilliant, of good wit and a pleasure to work with. People carrying his level of responsibility are rarely as able also to remain kind and good natured as he. Full of life and goodness, he brightened all of us here. I grew to admire him as soon as I began working with him at Digital Globe. He will be missed and his memory appreciated by many of us here.
I am speechless. Allan's passing is the last thing I would imagine: Always healthy, calm, competent, collaborative, candid, fun. A reliable and trustworthy colleague and friend,
to be admired and emulated.
Joanie my thoughts have been with you all weekend. I'm a good friend of your sister and have been hearing about your family for many years. My sincere sympathies to your family during this time.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Allan at DG. He was an exceptional person with a great smile who was always kind, patient and fun to work with. May you find peace and comfort in the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
Allan was quiet but I sensed a sharp wit. I didn't know him as well as I would have liked. I do know he was a devoted dad who often dropped the girls at Girl Scouts and made a point of attending our Girl Scouts events. This is beyond tragic and we give our love to amazing Joanie, and their extraordinary daughters - Kendall and Audrey, who we are blessed to know. Allan's spark will always be alight within them. Julie, Dean & Milena

Allan's love of family and community was evidenced by his warmth and good deeds. His joy in living will continue in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have encountered him. Kendall, Audrey and Joanie share this lightness of being and carry it forward. Love to you all,
Dear Joanie and Family,
We are unbelievably saddened at the news of your sudden loss of Allan. Dave enjoyed working with Allan all those years and the long phone conversations on technical subjects. We always appreciated your friendship and hospitality. We send our deepest sympathy.
I worked with Allan and DigitalGlobe. During a meeting we found out we had a few things in common. I am from Georgia, have a Biology degree but ended up in the IT field, and I also spent time in the United Kingdom. I did not work with Allan very often but he seemed like a wonderful person and definitely loved his family. I am so sorry for you loss.
I worked with Allan at DigitalGlobe but I was lucky enough to catch him at the Longmont Athletic Club during lunch break. It was at the gym where I got a chance to know Allan, what a great guy!!
