Happy Father's Day Dad!
Today we would have had a BBQ at Mom & Dad's house. When Steve & I were kids, usually my Dad would BBQ steaks, yeah, T-bone steaks! OK, I guess I shouldn't say usually, I should say always! Mom would prepare everything else. By the way, our Mom is an excellent cook!!! Steve & I would be playing around in the backyard or swimming when the pool was put in & watching my Dad cook the steaks.
Sometimes the flames would come up & we would yell "FIRE! FIRE!" & run to get Dad if he had stepped away for a second, which usually didn't happen because he took care of how he BBQ'd the steaks. Steve & I would watch Dad put out the flames without causing ashes to fly up onto the bottom of the steaks. Dad taught us this, and let's just say Steve did a better job at it than I did because I liked to watch the fire, steam & ashes go flying up. I'd throw water on the coals even if there wasn't a fire just to see the fire, steam & ashes go flying up again, of course when my Dad was not watching, & I mean, I had to make sure the coast was clear, otherwise, yikes!!! Didn't get caught to many times, but when I did I told him "But there was fire though!?" I'm pretty sure Dad didn't believed me, but usually he gave me the benefit of the doubt, plus, hey he didn't see it anyways (ah, sometimes this was my plea - which meant guilty as charged without admitting guilt).
We were definitely a meat & potatoes family & we loved it! Hey, maybe this was the beginning of Steve's calling to become a firefighter!
Rest In Peace Dad!
I Miss & Love You So Much,
Bruce

My prayers go out to Aunt Rory, Steve, Bruce, Maria, Devin and Olivia. I will miss Uncle Eddie's sense of humor and wit. Family get togethers won't be the same. I have some great memories of Uncle Eddie and feel blessed that he was such huge part of my life. I love you Uncle Eddie and will miss you!
