This Friday 6/6/2014 I officiated at he funeral of Howards brother, Mel Young. Mel was the last living brother of the three. Wilbur, Howard, and Mel are once again together again. Now the ability to touch and feel them are gone. However the memories will never fade. For as long as we cherish those memories that love will never go away. May God bless and keep you till we meet again.

My Grandpa Young was a great and fun person to be around. I had the pleasure of living with him for a couple of years. We had some real fun times together. I remember this one time we went out to Mountain Valley Golf Course. We went over to the driving range and I went to swing the driver and completely missed the ball. But I did manage to drive the head of the golf club about 50 yards. I remember Grandpa started laughing, and that is just one of the many fun times with Grandpa. He will be missed very much. I love you Grandpa Young.

It was with great honor that I was chosen to officiate at my Uncles Howard's funneral. I have many memories of his kind nature and humor. From runing foot races with him (and loosing), to imulating his bowling style. From the many times all the families went camping together, to the cherished times I played golf with my dad and my Uncles Howard and Mel. I look back on the time he came to my going away party. I had been drafted and was reporting the next day. Viet Nam was more than likely my future stop. Me not realizing Uncle Howards past experience with WWII, his Bronze Star and his personal loses, I did't at the time appreciate his being there to see me off. Through the years I came to understand the send off he gave me was a very personal one. And I also as so many people do, don't appreciate the caring things that are done for us until many years later. My Uncle was many things to many people. His family, his friends, his war buddies, even those whom he fought against in the war. All of these snipits of life go into the making of the man. It was my blessing to have not only known the man but to have been related to him as well. JOHN 14:1-3 "Let Not Your heart be troubled. You are trusting God, now trust in me. There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready I will come and get you. so that you can always be with me where I am... With deep regards and love Russ Young

I will never forget the time I was able to spend with you. I have wonderful memories with you and nothing will ever take those away from me. I couldn't have asked for a more loving grandpa. You will always be in my heart and I know that you are finally at peace and with grandma. I love you both and miss you so much.
