Dear Ramon and family

We are so sorry of hearing about Lucy's passing. She is now one of God's beautiful angels.
Remembering Lucy we think of her wonderful smile and the way she always had a way of making everyone feel good even if she was meeting you for the first time.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Larry and Becky Carson and family

We only knew Lucy from the Davis Farmers' Market, so we only knew one dimension of a rich life. And we only knew her for twenty years, so we only knew a small part of a long story. But the person we knew was radiant with a welcoming warmth that we will not forget. Of course we were grateful for the shelled walnuts and the peeled red onions (such a luxury), but we were much more grateful for the good-natured conversation about cooking kale and calabaza. Even in later years, when she no longer recognized us, she was so generously open and joyful when we leaned into the truck, where she was sitting quietly during the market, just to say hello. With so much forgotten, the goodness of her nature did not get lost. We will look forward to seeing Charlie at the market and will stop at the farm to see Ramon, but we will always miss Lucy.

Sara,

Our thoughts have been with you, Michael, and the children. May your mother rest in peace, knowing she brought into the world such a wonderful person as you. In the last analysis, that is the true measure of the value of a parent's life - helping to make the world a better place.
