Mary Lou Trejo, 54, of Woodland, passed away due to pneumonia at UC Davis Medical Center on Jan. 31. Mary Lou was born in Woodland, Sept. 22, 1962.
She was a mother, survived by three sons, Robert Castaneda, Salmenio Trejo and Emiliano Coronado (wife) Nancy and (son) Angelo; also her mother, Margaret "Maggie" Tafoya; sister, Jackie Campos; brother, Louie Moreno Jr. Mary Lou lived a hard life but had a heart of gold. She was very generous and giving to other individuals in her life. She did Calvary ministry work and helped many people work on repairing their shattered lives through spirituality and faith in God. She was an animal lover, and had two dogs, Papa and Diamond, who were also considered part of the family and gave her many years of tremendous love and affection. She also had numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Ruben Trejo Sr.; brothers, Ruben Duke Trejo Jr. (Shorty) and Randolph Isaac Trejo; maternal grandparents, Manuel (Chano) and Mary Louise Tafoya.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 28 at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland 95695. Celebration of life will follow at the parish hall next door to the church.
