Doy F. Fenton

Doy Fenton died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, in Sacramento at the age of 86. He was born in Stigler, Okla., on Sept. 3, 1927. Doy graduated from Shafter High School in 1945 and enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during the occupation of Japan in 1946. Doy began a 40-year career as a "roughneck" in the California oilfields, and retired as vice president of Atlantic Oil Company in 1992. Doy was a member of the Woodland Elks Lodge 1299.
Doy was a proud and dedicated brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Scott and Mary Browner; daughters Paulette Eyraud (Marty Eyraud), Darlene Weber (Keith Nickell), Tracey Pereida (Edward Pereida) and Cheryl Fenton; grandchildren Enetra and Randy Eyraud, James and Jeannie Fenton, Elizabeth and Rebecca Boles, Justin, Katie and Amy Weber, and Sara and Mathew Pereida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gene Fenton; and son Gerald Fenton.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21, at McNary's Funeral Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A memorial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, also at McNary's Chapel.

Dee and entire Fenton family, my heartfelt condolences goes out to you and yours at the loss of your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad and difficult time. May the memory of your daddy be a blessing to comfort you always. I will always remember your dad's smiling eyes and friendly smile as I remember his beloved children the same. We lost a great man last Sunday. A true guiding influence in my life. I very much appreciate our time on this earth with Doy.
