Arthur Max Greendale
WOODSTOCK-Long time Woodstock resident, Arthur Max Greendale, passed away on March 13, 2015. Max was born in Brooklyn on March 29, 1942 and grew up in Hewlett, Long Island. He graduated from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania and earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology at Temple University. He then began his career at IBM, Kingston as a computer programmer, and then a manager in software development. At the age of 50, Max retired from IBM and became a Certified Financial Planner and for 15 years enjoyed helping people reach their financial goals. In 1977 Max met his wife, Laura, at the Unitarian Fellowship in Kingston where they were married in 1980. There they remained active members, and built lifelong friendships. Max was also dedicated to the Unitarian Universalist Rowe Camp and Conference Center, where he was the President of the Board of Trustees for several years. Max and Laura lived in Woodstock where they raised their children, before moving to Vero Beach, Fla., in 2007. Max is survived by his wife, Laura; his daughters, Sara Buehler and Alli Greendlinger Gomes; his stepchildren, Jeff Dales and Holly Dales Raal; his nine grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Jessie. A memorial service is being planned for July 25, 2015 at The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Catskills.
