James (Jim) Bonestell HURLEY-James (Jim) Bonestell, 72 of Walton Lane Hurley, died Thursday Aug. 29, 2013 at the Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home in Lake Katrine. Born Dec. 20, 1940 in Kingston, he was a son of the late Clarence and Effie (Grimm) Bonestell. A United States Army Veteran, Jim served from 1959 to 1961. He was employed as a truck driver for the Ulster County Highway Department. A family man, Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was an excellent cook. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, #970 and the Hurley Social Club. Surviving is his wife, Barbara Corkery Bonstell of Hurley; his children, James M. Bonestell and his wife Maria of Kingston, Jamie Harris and her husband Timothy of Saugerties and Jodi Corsa and her husband Mathew of Coxsackie; his grandchildren, Courtney Harris, Zachary Harris, Travis Corsa, Wade Corsa and Dylan Bonestell; his twin sister, Virginia Houghtaling and her husband Gerald of Kingston; sister, Phyllis Madden and her husband John of Georgia. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Many brothers and sisters predeceased him. Funeral and cremation arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. www.jvleahyfh.com Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cremation will be held at the Wiltwyck Crematory. In lieu of flowers, Jim's family requests that you offer a random act of kindness.
