I had the r Whitman and his family in Marathon, Fl. back in the 80's when my Mom worked at the IHOP there. truly a gentleman. You will be missed.

Slim came to our home many times on his way to El Paso, TX or to Carlsbad, NM, we would always go and see him there. My family loved all his music and treasured his friendship. Vaya con dios my friend. The Gilmore Family @ Salt Flat, TX. (Shirley Gilmore Richardson)

I knew mr. Whitman as I called him ,I worked at a hotel in nash as the bell captain in the 80's .mr Whitman would come from the airport in a cab,alwaws carring one bag.i would meet & greet him and take him to his room,and he would always so very plitley say thank you,an always slip you a $10..00 bill he was not a cheap man,and always a good converaction.most big ent. usually tiped from 50cents to a dollar,but not mr Whitman he was a good guy in lots of ways.family I am very sorry for your loss
