Dear Belle family,
We just heard about Rick and we're so sorry for your loss. We always looked forward to Rick joining us and being part of our wrestling clinic. We will miss exchanging wrestling stories with him and will miss his sincere kindness to us and our California wrestling community. Sincerely, Bill & Vickie Grant
My condolences to Rick's family and friends. I met him only a few times in person yet was impressed as he was friendly, pleasant and fair businessman. I was always glad to work with him and to receive a package from him. I wish the family well.
I first met Rick in the Fall of 1979 as a freshman wrestler at West Chicago High School. He was a true "Wildcat"-a fighter. As his coach I could always count on him to be at practice and at meets, giving his best effort. As I continued to coach I knew him as an outstanding wrestling official. I will miss him greatly, especially during the HS state series and the NCAA wrestling meets. His ability and willingness to fight through adversity served him well throughout his life. Kim,Brittany, and Kelsey-may God grant you peace and comfort in your many fond memories of him as an outstanding husband and father. We will ALL miss him greatly! Sincerely "Coach"
I was fortunate to know Rick in college but we lost touch through the years. My deepest sympathy to the Belle family, especially to his wife and children.

Georgia and Jack Leese extend our deepest, heartfelt sympathy especially to Kim, Brittany, and Kelsey, on the passing of our friend Rick Belle. Truly, Rick was first a loving family man, a successful self employed businessman, as well as being an avid sportsman. Regarding the latter, he was an outstanding wrestling referee, and was extremely fond of both the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. While time will help to heal the wounds of his passing, which he fought to the end, the memories of him will last forever. His smile, friendliness, and kindness brought sunshine into the lives of many. Yes, Rick Belle will be missed!
I am very sorry for your loss. I remember Rick when he wrestled at ISU and also very well as a ref. He was always fair and concerned for the well being of the wrestlers. He has helped our team out with awards and was always a positive person. I have many great memories of Rick and his smiling self. God Bless You and my prayers are with you and for the repose of Rick's soul.
Rick and I crossed paths every year at the NCAA Wrestling Championships. His absence will be felt every March as his energy and passion was felt throughout the week. Our prayers are with the Belle Family.

This is such sad news and I can't believe Rick is gone. His smiling face and upbeat attitude was ever-present and contagious.
