I worked for Bill Morkes at the Chocolate Shop In Palatine as did both by older sisters (The Schuler girls). He was a great person, boss and he passed on his good values to all of us. We still consider ourselves Morkes girls who were taught how to work hard and be successful. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I met Bill Morkes as part of a bridge group when we both lived in Oak Park. Of all the people I have met over the years (even playing bridge) Bill Morkes was certainly the most fun, most interesting, and the most affable on all. As the mark of a good card player, you never knew exactly what was in the back of his mind, whereas you always knew exactly where he stood on important matters of life.

My condolences to the family. I know it's not easy to bare the loss of a family member. Mr. Morkes was always nice to me an my family and he will always be remembered. With sincere thoughts and prayers.
