Lloyd L. Allen, Jr., 96, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his residence in Downingtown.
He was the beloved husband of the late M. Constance ""Connie"" (nee Quarry) Allen with whom he shared 62 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 2006.
Born in Coatesville, Lloyd was the son of the late Lloyd L. Allen, Sr. and Laura J. (nee Milligan) Allen.
He was a graduate of Coatesville High School and the McCarry School of Mechanical Dentistry.
Lloyd proudly served his country in WW II as a Marine Paratrooper in the 1st Marine Parachute Regiment in the Solomon Islands.
He was employed by the former Luken's Steel Company and Beloit Corporation for 41 years.
Lloyd was a member of the Downingtown VFW Post 845, the American Legion and the disabled American Veterans.
In his spare time, Lloyd's hobbies included stain glass windows, woodworking, Facebooking, flying his drone at the park, and having breakfast with his buddies at the Coffee Cup.
Mr. Allen is survived by his sister, Vivian Spotts; nieces; nephews; and his caretaker and best friend, Alexis Law.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by his sisters, Geraldine Mae Allen and Betty Jane Simpson; and brother, William F. Allen.
Lloyd's funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 2nd at 11 AM from the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown where friends may visit from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.
Interment at St. Cecelia Cemetery, Coatesville.
