During most of 1977 Sid was my partner in the management
of a boogie woogie and blues/ cabaret act called Stormin' Norman and Suzy. Working with Sid was a privilege. I was so proud that he agreed to join me in that business venture. I was honored to work with him.
He was unlike most others I had met in the business. He was sweet, he had vision, intellect, and he was a mensch.
I met his wife Gerry, and she was superb. What a wonderful couple they were. I hadn't seen Sid for over 25 years until five or six years ago when I visited Sid and Gerry. i saw them several times at their apartment when I came to Manhattan. I was so happy to see Sid still greatly engaged in life and the life of show business that he loved so much. He lived a great life--- a legendary one.
Anyone who loves the business of show business, should read his book, Not Just the Beatles!
It's lovely and it's thrilling with a tinge of regret.
Sid, I love you.

It was my great privilege to have met and gotten to know Sid Bernstein over the last few decades. From book signing events to Beatlefests to sing-alongs at Strawberry Fields to concerts by numerous artists, some famous and some not, I would frequently see Sid. Whenever he saw me, his face would light up. At one show, he even asked his assistant to bring him closer to me. Needles to say, I was flattered. He was arguably one of the most important manager/ promoters in the history of popular music, and yet he was also one of the sweetest , kindest people that you would ever meet in your life. I would say that that is an extremely rare combination of traits to be found within the same individual.
