Deric. I suppose it's a bit late, but I only just found out. The years and the distance don't make any difference to the way I feel now.

We kind of drifted apart, as people do sometimes, but when we were 16, 17, you were one of my closest friends. You, Deric Quesenberry, were the person I would turn to first when I was upset, or when I had a very terrible (and possibly crude) joke, the first I wanted to tell when something amazing had happened. I just wanted to share it with you. Thank you for letting me, and for sharing with me in return.

I found some poems I wrote about you, and a story I started for you (I only got 10,000 words in, but it does have guns in it), and I'm sure there's another somewhere else. Maybe I'll get them published some day and you'll get your name in the dedication spot, you lucky wee thing.

Deric, you were my friend, and I loved you. I loved you so very much.

I'll always remember your enthusiasm for life. The world is a lesser place without you.

You were beyond a talented man with the ability to heal. Those fortunate of knowing you saw your many capabilities. We love you, Mr. Quesenberry.

Espero que nuestras vidas esten juntos otra vez.

The caterpillar dies so the butterfly could be born. And, yet, the caterpillar lives in the butterfly and they are but one. So, when I die, it will be that I have been transformed from the caterpillar of earth to the butterfly of the universe. - John Harricharan Deric Marshall Quesenberry you are now that butterfly, you have touched a Universe of people....?

I promise to always keep your memory alive with Tabitha and Wolfgang. They will know what a wonderful Uncle you were.

Love you,
Eileen
