To the Armstrong family I pray for your strength during this difficult time. Mr. Armstrong gave me my first haircut as a boy @ the Collegiate Barber Shop. He was surrounded by Payne McIntyre, Dan, Northcutt, and the proprieter, Mr. Griffen. It's amazing how these men encompassed the pulse of a city, the heartbeat of our community right there.Additionally he sang with my father in the Crusaders Men's chorus. Oh what a wonderfull sound. I smile now as I reflect on your father's strength, humility, doing what was right, and always leading and supporting our community.
I know this is a sad time for you, but I celebrate the life of Mr. Armstrong and the men of that era for all they endured and overcame. Bless you all. Finally, I salute the Collegiate Barber Shop as its last original member has opened his shop in heaven.
