I am Marilyn Lee, AKA, Paloma Pilar Grasso. I am the same age as Jimmy's son Jimmy. We were in the same class together and I lived next door to Jimmy and Mr. Bivins on 137th street until I went to college. I later lived
in South America but returned in 1981 with my five children. Mr. Bivins, which is what I always called him although my kids called him Jimmy was so good to my kids, especially my two older boys, Fernan and Sergio. He was a wonderful man, a great neighbor and a good friend. Ximena, my daughter also had a wonderful relationship with Jimmy. He was like a grandfather to them. I lived in the Cedar Avenue area remember him delivering bread.I recently saw him while working at Huron Hospital.He talked about boxing Jersey Joe and meeting Muhammad Ali. He was A delight to care for.

Although I never got the chance to meet you, I did have the chance to read about you, and stories I heard from people in that era, eveyone of them said that you were a champion. I belive them and I also agree with them. Mr Bivins you are a champion in my eyes and always will be. RIP

Many years ago My family lived in the country in Chardon Ohio Jimmy Bevins parents stopped to see if Mr Bevins could hunt on our land Mrs Bevins would sit and visit with my mother and they became good friends and remained for years They always bragged about their son Jimmy and we all remembered his name.I am talking way back in the early 60s My parents are gone now but we remember his family.RIP The OMalley family
