The first group I EVER saw on stage: April 1985 San Francisco Civic Auditorium some raunchy white rappers named "The Beastie Boys" opening up for Madonna on her Like A Virgin Tour. Licensed To Ill wasn't even out. These 3 crazy guys got booed off stage...
Little did I know I was introduced to one of my favorite groups ever that I would see numerous times again, who would make (IMHO) the greatest pure hip hop album ever in Paul's Boutique...
Thank you Adam for gifts you gave us all. You enriched my life though I never met you. You are already missed...
R.I.P. Adam "MCA" Yauch...

Adam- since this news has reached i have been carrying a very heavy heart. Im saddended beyond expectations brother, although i never got to meet you personally it feels like ive lost a brother. You taught me so much about life and myself. Your taught me about composure ,conviction, love and compassion, as well as blowing my mind with your music , your flow, lyrics and style . You brought to my attention so many importan things in my life - from the harrowing issues surrouding Tibet, to how you fall (literally fall) into a groove of music. Movements and music. You were the best my man , never forgoten, forever living strong in my heart . From your brother Lewis Leicester UK (love to ad and mike ) x

Adam, I didn't know you and that kills me because I'll never get to tell you how much you meant to me because you were my number one inspiration. I wish I was born in the 80's so I could have witnessed your amazing rise from the beginning. You will continue to inspire me..

Thanks. The Beasties have played on my stereo since I was a kid. Still have at least two of your CD's in my car at all times. But the path you chose has made the biggest impact on my life. May your family be blessed forever and a day.

I am saddened beyond words that the music i have loved since 1986 has been silenced. I send my thoughts and condolences to your family as well Mike & Adam. I am devastated, i cannot even imagine the saddness those who were fortunate enough to know andlove you must feel. You and the Beasties music will forever remain a part of my heart. You will be missed but never forgotten.

MCA---Thanks for showing us all how to grow, mature, evolve, give, laugh, and most importantly love.

From my middle school days in the 80's till my mid 30's now, MCA and the B. Boys have played a soundtrack to my life, and an entire generation. My most memorable times on the school bus, to the high school parties, to the college parties, the spring breaks, to blasting the stereo in my car on I95, have all been accompanied by the luscious grooves and rhymes of the Beastie Boys.

Your light will never go out! My deepest prayers, and sympathies to his brothers AdRock and Mike. D, his wife and daughter, his family, and many friends.
