Ann, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and the family. Ken was a dear friend, brother and comrade of mine in Vietnam. He will be sorely missed by all of us who served with him.
I have added a Memorial page of Ken on my 3rd Recon website.
You can view it here: http://www.3rdreconfewproud.com/Burnett.htm
You are in our thoughts and prayers always.
May God Bless and give you strength thru these most difficult times.

Ken, You were so much more than a brother. You were my friend, my protector and my hero. I was always so proud that you were my brother. Everyone who knew you, loved you. When you made a friend, he/she was your friend for life. We all will remember your beautiful smile and twinkling eyes that lit up the room the moment you entered. Your love for family and country far exceeded that of the average person. You suffered many, many years and eventually gave your life as a result of your service to our country. I made a promise to you just before you went to be with Jesus that I would take care of Mom. I will hold true to that promise. I will always be available to help Ann and the kids. I love you, Bubby, and I know I will see you in Heaven.

Our hearts were truly saddened when Joyce and I learned of Ken's cancer and then his passing. I know he is in a better place now, but I also know his family is very sad and will always miss his smiling face. It has been many years since I saw Ken, back when I lived in St. Clair Shores. All I remember is good times when being with the Burnett family. May God Bless all of you and lift up your spirits. Rest in peace Ken.
