Allen Rupert was my academic advisor and guardian angel rolled into one incredible human being. I first met "Dr. Rupert" in 1985 when I enrolled at UTD in the General Studies Program. I was a young mother with two small children and had a history of learning difficulties. For the next eight years, Allen Rupert was able to "shepherd" me through my degree program, one semester at a time.... always welcoming my children and me into his office
when it was time for an academic conference. I graduated from UTD in December 1993 and "Dr. Rupert" was right there! Today, I am a retired Richardson ISD school teacher. For seventeen years, I taught reading to children
who also had difficulties with reading and learning. I will forever be grateful for the gifts of kindness, patience and
understanding that Allen Rupert gave and showed me. He enabled so much good to happen in my life. Bless you
"Dr. Rupert" and God bless your family. Sincerely, Margaret G. Cooper-Bolton
