I knew Carol through First Methodist Church in Dallas, but she was also married to my dad's cousin, Gordon. She was always the kindest of the kind.

I was so saddened to learn today of Carol's passing. My parents, Joyce Ashton and Richard Ashton, knew the Lipsetts before I was born, so Gordon and Carol have always been a part of my life. Not only was Carol my piano teacher for 9 years, she was also like a second mother to me. I have a plethora of fond memories of all the fun times I spent at the Lipsett's house, those fabulous FUMC Choir parties, and the great times at Choir Camp. I can still hear my mother waltzing right into the Lipsett's house and announcing (in her sing-song voice), "Bing-bong!" That was my mom's way of "ringing" their doorbell. Carol was such a dear, sweet, caring person...always poised, always cheerful, and full of kindness and thoughtfulness. She was a great role model for me. She was a very dear friend to my mom, Lady Ashton, and I hope they are laughing and singing together once again. I will miss Carol very much. My heart goes out to Scott, Dawn, and Terry. I will keep you and all of the Lipsett family in my thoughts and prayers. Much love to all of you.

When I saw Carol's picture and her smile, my memories were more poignant as I remembered the wonderful years our family (the Billy Olivers) shared with Carol and Gordon, Scott, Dawn and Terry in Aldersgate and First Methodist. She was lovely, lovable, and remarkable. I am sad with you.
