Charlie was always so special to me! I see him coming through the Livestock office door with his corny dog and a beer. He just came by to say hello. How many youth lives has he touched??? Thousands for sure! Love you Charlie! You will be missed! Rest In Peace my friend.

my deepest condolences to the family. May the assurance at Psalms 29:11 provide comfort to you at this difficult time.

We lost an extraordinary man, who I was privileged to call my friend, mentor, colleague, and the best boss I have ever had. For over 25 years, I was blessed to have the opportunity to work closely with Charles in Houston, TX. There was always a lesson learned, an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, and most of all someone who will always be remembered in my heart. I can recall at one of the many Christmas Party gatherings at his ranch singing, My Way, in which holds a dear place in my heart; knowing he lived his life his way, and touched so many of us along the way. We lost a wonderful man, but Heaven gained an Angel, fly high with your new found wings my Friend, until we meet again!

I was so sad to learn of Uncle Charles's passing. I never got to see him much, but when I did it was always a memorable occasion. I remember the first time I met him at Mama Dee's at Christmas before David and I married, 39 or 40 years ago. The smile and twinkle in his eye were so appealing to me. And, when I heard him singing John Denver's "Some Days are Diamonds", I knew he was a great guy. I loved it when he called me "Little Bit". He was so full of life and always seemed to be enjoying himself. Another memory was when Daddy Hoss died. Uncle Charles was right there beside Mama Dee making sure she was taken care of properly. That made a real impression on me. And, when Bill died, he was so genuinely attentive, kind and thoughtful to Lila. I know he was a "character" and could be cantankerous, but under all that was really a soft-hearted, kind and thoughtful man of character. When the Fletchers host Christmas this year, it just won't be the same.
My love to Craig, Dennis, Gail, and their families
