Dan was my first friend. We were born 20 days and 4 doors apart on Upsal St in Philadelphia. We remained friendly until his move west in high school. I will remember him fondly, and I'm sure his family must be proud and comforted by his wonderful accomplishments in his too short sojourn.

I'm from an older school with respect to Professor Shuman. He was my evidence teacher back in the early 80s. As a teacher, he was one of the best. When Ii was trying cases in federal courts around the country, and in local courts in Washington, DC, Maryland, and elsewhere, the lessons he taught me were unbelievable. He was the modern day equivalent of Socrates in the classroom.

I thank my lucky stars that he was my evidence professor, I thank those same stars that I knew him. What he taught me was the basis of my trial career. RIP, Professor Shuman, and thank you.

An outstanding educator and such a gentleman. My courses under him remain of great value to my practice, 29 years later. Blessings on Professor. Blessings on his family.

Brooke and Lindsy, I just heard about your Dad and was flooded with wonderful memories of the time we all spent together. My first thought was how much he adored the two of you and I can imagine he was the best grandfather ever! I am so very sorry for your loss. Shelly, Stevie and I all send you hugs and you will be in our thoughts and prayers. He will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched.
