I helped recruit David out of Baylor Law School to join us at the Zeleskey Law firm in Lufkin. He spent many evenings at dinner at our house. A skilled lawyer, he loved life itself and the pleasures it brings. We talked wine, food, and of course, the law. He knew what it meant to be a friend and to be loyal. We have been saddened that poor health cut his legal career and life short.

I grew up next door to David; I am guilty of placing a scar above his eye when we were 11. I can only imagine how many people he had to tell the story to, when asked how he got an indentation on his forehead.

We created more variations with an erector set, that got hours upon hours of use, must have played a lifetime of bumper pool and ping-pong in my room, and played a lot of baseball and football in the empty lot across the street.

David was driven as a kid, had enough intelligence to stand his ground for what he believed in, and did not let peer pressure cause him to waver from that value system. Good job my friend! God is very proud.

I know that we lost a great man, but God also gained one, as well. Though our life here on earth is a mere second in the grand scheme of time, our life in heaven is eternity.

Just because you got there first, you cannot take the prime location next to the lake with the best fishing and hunting on it.

Though there may be a lot of sadness with your departure, I am so happy that you are fully healed, in no pain or discomfort, and get to enjoy life to its' fullest once again. I can only imagine who you are hanging out with
( Jesus, Einstein, Steve Job, and many others with high IQ's) and what vast knowledge of debates that are occurring.

I'll see you in a few nanoseconds, when thinking of the clock God goes by.

David and I grew up as next door neighbors and shamefully I have to admit I am the guilty party that left him with a scar above his eye. What dumb things 11 year olds do.

Even as kids, he liked structure, stood his ground for what he believed in, and was smart enough not to waver from his values when peer pressure was upon him. Good job my friend!

You were driven as a kid, but cared about others. I can only imagine what impact you had while an attorney in Lufkin.

We lost a great man, but God gained one as well. Our time here on Earth is but seconds, but an eternity in heaven. Knowing that you are healed, well, and in a great place brings joy to all.

So sorry to hear of David's passing. He was such a sweet and kind person. He was always a joy to work with at the law office. Praying for peace and comfort for all.
