Miss Etta... my fitness hero! I met Etta when she came into my life as I began my personal training career. She was retired, quit smoking, and I was privaleged to care for her for a wonderful 16 years at Brickhouse Gym in Coppell. Through her, I made many dear friends that she unselfishly shared, along with her family. She was tough with an incredibly charitable, caring heart. I was always made a part of her gatherings and celebrations, like family. It has taken me a while to pen this entry- Sadness overtakes us until we have the right words to say. We will happily meet again Etta! Bless you, sweet one!

Etta Jean was Aunt to Leslie (Ferons), and Debbie Brand, Great Aunt to Elizabeth and Emily Ferons, and dear friend of David Ferons, Stan Moffatt, Kirk Koenig, and Betty Maza and a dear cousin. At 16 years of age she graduated as Valedictorian at Forest Avenue High School #1 in her class. Had she not hit the "glass ceiling barrier to advancement affecting women in that era, she moat likely could have become CEO of Liberty Mutual. We all grew up in "the old country" of South Dallas as second, third generations of immigrants among a great many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. She will be missed by my wife Sheila and all that knew her.

So sorry to hear that Etta has passed away. I worked with her for many years and we stayed in touch by email after we had both left Liberty Mutual. I had not heard from her in a while but didn't know she was so ill. We had talked of a trip to Corsicana to meet with other friends, but alas, that never came to fruition. I wish now that I had insisted. My heart aches for your loss!
