Not sure what to say?

Dr. Brodsky will forever be in my thoughts. Because of him, I am not only ambulatory but living a productive, drug-free life. He, too, believed that diet and exercise were keys to health - medicine when absolutely necessary. While I was on medication for years because of RA and fibromyalgia, Dr. Brodsky helped me make lifestyle changes and ween me off the harsh medications. It took a long time, but we did it. My family and I are indebted.

Michele,
It is clear that Dr. B left a profound and enduring legacy. All I have to do is close my eyes and hear his calm, assuring voice. He was so proud of you and his grandson. Continued prayers of support. We were all blessed to have known this kind, compassionate man.

Dear Michelle,
I must have been out of town when your Daddy passed away as I am just now seeing this notice. As you were in my daughter, Elizabeth's class at school when your Mother passed away, the whole class tried to rally round you and your Dad to help in any way we could. I will never forget the intense and obvious concern he had for you; it was evident in his face and voice about the anxiety of your care and his ability as a lone parent. I can see why he was called "Papa Bear". He did a good job as you are a brilliant, sweet, thoughtful young lady and I just wanted to share a time with you when you were much too young to understand.

Ellen Stuart

August 28, 2017

We echo your sentiments, Michelle. I think of him daily as I do my exercises that he so helpfully suggested. His legacy lives on in all his patients who loved and respected him. He was in my husband chemistry class at SMU and attended the award cereminy for him in April 2016. We could not believe it when he left us so soon. Dr. Biehl and I have a long standing appreciation for this man's charcter and ability. Our continued sympathy.

As we end a year of mourning my dad, Papa Bear, I am thankful for all of the memories shared here. My Dad was a very loyal and supportive father. He loved being a physician as much as he loved being a Dad. Like you, I miss him each and every day. Papa Bear's memory will always be for a blessing.

Dr. Brodsky was an "old-school" in the very best sense. He took time, he listened, he was hands-on, and it was always apparent that he cared. I never felt rushed, or as if I were just another patient in a busy day, He was the best doctor I have ever had. I am so sad to learn of his passing. My condolences to his loved ones and to those who worked closely with him every day. He is missed.

I am so saddened to hear of Dr. Brodsky's passing. He treated me for a short time. I had been to so many doctors trying to get the correct diagnosis and he took the time to listen and really hear me. He was such a kind, gentle and caring doctor, one that is so hard to find. Thanks to what Dr. Brodsky started, I am finally feeling better.

He will be greatly missed. Dr. Brodsky was an angel here. Now, he truly is an angel above.

This news is such a shock. We were out of town this summer and did not return until the end of Sept.I just called the office for an appointment and was told. Dr Brodsky was one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met. He had been in my husband's first year chemistry class at SMU and had attended an award ceremony for Dr Ed Biehl last spring along with many other students. I still do the daily exercises for my back that he taught me well over ten years ago. He was intellectual, kind, helpful and a dedicated scholar. the medical community in Dallas has lost one of the best. Our deepest condolences to his family. Such a warm and loving man will live in their hearts forever. Peace be with you all. Ed and Julianne Biehl

My wife and I are truly heartbroken after learning of Dr. Brodsky's passing just a couple of weeks ago. How truly characteristic of the great doctor that he was that he continued looking after the needs of his patients with his great care and compassion while dealing with his own illness. My wife was a long time patient of Dr. Brodsky's as he was the physician who correctly diagnosed some of her chronic health conditions after literal years of her living in pain and discomfort and being told that no cause could be found and that what she was feeling was all in her head. Dr. Brodsky believed in her, assured her she was not crazy and offered her a lifeline of hope that he could help her make things better and more manageable giving her a better quality of life. He did all this with great wisdom and with the calm, quiet demeanor he had. He was always so pleased to hear about her victories large and small amidst the challenges she faced and was so reassuring for both of us that she was going to be okay. Dr. Brodsky has been so respected and loved by our family that he will be dearly missed by us always. At the same time, we offer our deepest condolences to those in his family and practice who knew him far better and for longer than we did. The loss you feel is much greater than ours yet we hope that the legacy of hope, care and compassion that he left through his dedicated service to so many of us will bring you an extra measure of comfort during this time. This world is better for the life that Dr. Brodsky lived in it and darker now that he is not among us. The hope and better life he helped so many to find will be his enduring legacy.

October 16, 2016

I will miss Dr. Brodsky so much. I have seen him for nearly 20 years. I was diagnosed with SLE in my early 20s, and he was there to show me that life went on and supported me through having my daughter even when other doctors would not. He held my hand quite a few times while I cried and helped me keep a positive outlook on living with my condition. There are no other doctors like him; he was one of a kind. All my other doctors would commend him when they found out he was my Rheumatologist and would refer to his expertise on treating me. If I was in the hospital for something else, he would still come to see me. When I was really ill, he would call me at home to check on me. He will be greatly missed by peers and patients alike. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and staff.

I feel such a sadness to hear this news of Dr. Brodsky's passing. I saw Dr. Brodsky for many years and he was such a gentle soul, what I like to remember is that he shared genuine happiness with any and all improvements of my conditions. On my last visit he was so happy to hear that I was off the Prednisone that he offered a spontaneous hug. He will be missed dearly.

I have been traveling this month, and only just heard about the sad passing of my dear doctor, Alan Brodsky. He was so gentle, kind and sweet. i am so saddened to hear of Dr Brodsky's passing! I was a patient of Dr Brodsky for many years in the past & my daughter had just become his patient recently. Dr Brodsky was truly the best at his craft. Always the gentleman and ever the professional, I never left his office without feeling like I had been cared for by a great doctor. His conservative approach was always appreciated and I always felt like he had my best interests uppermost in his treatment decisions. He never tried to solve my issues with surgery when less severe therapies might be successful. His treatment recommendations really helped me and I had great respect for him and his expertise. He will be missed in his field and by all who knew him as a patient. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Dr. Brodsky gave the best of care to both my brother and to me for a long time. Only six weeks ago, he very generously and graciously agreed to take my seventeen year old daughter as a patient and was able to give her a firm diagnosis after years of our searching. She was only able to see him twice, but during that time he was so kind and gentle with her, and she instantly adored him as we all did. There were few if any like him in his field. Dr. Brodsky will be terribly missed in our family as I know he will be by all of his patients. He was simply the best. Sending prayers for peace and healing...
