Mr. Bedford was my Dad's closest friend, so I have known his name and accomplishments for all of my life. He made a change in the lives of many and he will be missed. His life, in many memories, will live on forever. Thanks to his family for allowing him to share his life, his thoughts for a better world, and himself with us. God has blessed him and will keep you forever.

You and my Dad (J. D.) grew up as brothers. I always remember your being around. I recall you assisting and providing your legal expertise to another unrelated family member. And, of course, you triumphed! Life is a continuum, both infinite and immortal. Thus said, your spirit and presence will forever be with us - your family and friends. My darling Uncle, we love you...

Kenneth F. Holbert,Esq. Bedford and I attended The National Bar Association Convention at Dilard University, New Orleans in 1953. We traveled to California with our client about 1955. He was one of the groomsmen in my wedding. I last visited him with Russeau and Sparks last year. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church at the old site. Louis was one of my best friends. He was a pallbearer at my mothers funeral along with Attorney Durham, Turner , Bunkley His mother and father were wellknown on the corner of Thomas and Hall. He had a lemonade stand in his front yad as a boy which we visited on our newspaper route. My fondest memories of Dallas ivolve him We often talked on his visits to Washington.

I first met Judge Bedford during my first job out of college. He was already a community icon, but treated me like a peer. He had the gift of patience and uplifted people and was a major influence on my decision to become an attorney. May he rest in peace.

I met Judge Bedford in 1968 when the Urban League office was down the hall. Bedford was the kindest, most gentle soul I have known. Always a supporter of the young people in the building that were active in the movement - a man with great honor to be respected and appreicate by all.

Judge Bedford was a guiding light for many throughout the City of Dallas. Not only did he provide valuable insight and direction for those in the judicial system, but he also found time to be a guiding force for the Washington-Lincoln Alumni Association of Dallas, Inc. Judge Bedford will be missed.
