I was Jack's Alcohol and Drug Counselor and I am devastated to learn of his passing. He did some volunteer work with me and he had a heart of gold. I wish he had reached out to me so I could try to encourage him. I also lost my brother and I know the devastation that comes with it. Please contact me if you can Kim. I am so so sorry for the overwhelming pain you and your whole family must be going through. He loved you and his father and brothers and sisters so much. He has been on my mind a lot and I have tried to contact him several times and that is when I Googled his name today. I will always remember you Jack and your heart of Gold. I am forever grateful to know that you and your brother are in Heaven and I will see you again. Until that time I will continue to make it my mission to help addicts gain freedom and I vow to do so for the rest of my life. I will do so in your honor, Jack Freeman! All my love!

I read about your sons in People magazine this week. I am so, so sorry for your loss of two beautiful sons. I pray that you find peace and that your sons rest in peace together. Your bravery in sharing your loss and grief is something that others struggling themselves or with family members with this tragic addiction I hope can embrace, and from which find their own strength to get help. I re-read a poem by Linda Ellis called The Dash that gives me comfort when I think about the loss my family suffered last year. That poem was given to me by an ICU head nurse who cared for my youngest brother when he struggled to live for six weeks after a massive heart attack at 53. He was on his way in his recovery to a long term acute care hospital when he suffered a final, deadly heart attack. I hope that poem helps you a little. God bless.

Your strength is inspiring. We do not know one another, but I really wanted to send my heartfelt sympathies to your family. I live outside of Phila., Penna. and the heroin epidemic is rampant here as well. I just read the article about your sons and it broke my heart. The fact that you are using your terrible tragedy to try and help others is remarkable. God bless all of you and may you find peace. Thank you for being who you are.
