Uncle James was the last of three brothers..ALL remarkable men. I can honestly say that they all gave me something to look up to. Each of them... very different. Each, to me, in their own way, towers of strength, and perseverance. You don't see these kind of men much anymore. They were smart and resilient, strong and loyal to each other, and the family. They overcame so much. I can't think of them as one, without the others. The greatest generation indeed. Carolyn, I'll be thinking of you and your family. Dale Jr.

From Don & Rosalie Jensen
It is with sadness that we say So Long to James. He and Carolyn were wonderful people to have as friends.
Don got to volunteer for James at the Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. Because of James i got to serve on the executive board and to head the Chamber Transportation committee. James was a champion of transportation for our city and state. In my opinion it was due to James efforts that Irving stayed in the DART system. As a result we have a Light Rail connection to both the Dallas area and DFW Airport. Due to James efforts we also got Commuter Rail connections to Dallas and Fort Worth right on time in 1996. His efforts spanned our state government, all the local governing agencies, Washington and yes event the provider of the rail cars in Canada. The system is called the TRE and yes we have two quality TRE stops right here in Irving.
I believe untold Millions of Dollars will continue to flow to Irving because of these efforts.

Only three people knew what Mr. Spriggs did for me to make things better.

Carolyn and family, my friendship with James goes back to elementary school in Texarkana. We were newspaper carriers together, we told yarns, laughed. I'm glad we reconnected in recent years. Our prayers are for you. J. Charles White
