I am going to miss my sweet, loving, intelligent friend. I am so sorry she has been taken from us. I hope she is enjoying her new home and her freedom from the illness and pain she had to endure. I loved and respected her so much. Her loving spirit will live on in all those that knew her.

My son Joseph had Mrs. Turner for 3rd grade (I think) at Hill Elementary. He liked her very much as a teacher, and I remember him commenting one time after someone misbehaved in class that "Mom, she's really fast!" My impression of her was that she was always kind and gentle, and we were very happy to have her as my son's teacher. Sending condolences to you at this difficult time, and wishing you peace and comfort as you go forward.

I taught with Kay at J.L. Hill Elementary for six years, and she was one of the best teachers, and nicest people, I've ever known. I've recently retired after 16 years' training special education teachers at the University of North Texas, and I often shared one of Kay's math tricks with my pre-service teachers, telling them "One of the best math teachers I ever watched did this..." Now, I wish I'd told her. It was a true pleasure to know Kay and my thoughts and prayers are with her family.
