Today I thought of Kirven and sought to find him. We worked at 3M together many years back and he was a very dear friend and mentor to me. He was very kind, well respected and shared his knowledge freely.
Was very sad to learn that he was no longer with us.
To the family am sending strength, love and prayers.
Rest In Peace my dear friend. You will remain in many hearts. Amen

I have just learned of Kirven's passing and am truly saddened. I haven't seen or spoken to Kirven in many, many years but my memories are so vivid it is as if I saw him yesterday.
I will continue to think of Kirven as one of the most gentle, professional, and kind colleagues I have ever had. I was fortunate to host him in Canada as well as to have toured with him in his home state of Texas. I will always remember his taking me to lunch at a restaurant called The Galley Restaurant in Galveston - a wonderfully thoughtful and kind gesture. Rest in Peace Kirven. My condolences to his family.

I worked with Kirven at 3M for many years and unfortunately we lost touch after he retired. He was one of those rare people that could be both a personal friend as well as a valuable business colleague. He treated everyone with respect even in times when they did not deserve it. As did Butch and Keith I too learned so much from him. We traveled many miles in TX, OK, GA, and SC and I have and cherish many memories. He had a great sense of humor and could always find a kind word even in stressful situations. I have attached a picture circa 1995 of Kirven and our sales team at one of our many fun sales meetings. I really cherish those days and relationships. Rest in peace my eternal friend Kirven!

Words are difficult to find to express my feelings for Kirven. He was a wonderful soul and a true gentleman. I had the honor and pleasure of his mentoring when I joined 3M which I will forever cherish.
Sincerest condolences to his family,

God Bless

Keith Shields
