Mr. Bedford was my Dad's closest friend, so I have known his name and accomplishments for all of my life. He made a change in the lives of many and he will be missed. His life, in many memories, will live on forever. Thanks to his family for allowing him to share his life, his thoughts for a better world, and himself with us. God has blessed him and will keep you forever.

Julia Dobbins
Daughter of J. D. Coleman

You and my Dad (J. D.) grew up as brothers. I always remember your being around. I recall you assisting and providing your legal expertise to another unrelated family member. And, of course, you triumphed! Life is a continuum, both infinite and immortal. Thus said, your spirit and presence will forever be with us - your family and friends. My darling Uncle, we love you...

A MIGHTY OAK HAS FALLEN! Judge Bedford was a civil rights icon and community leader, a prominent attorney and counselor, a fair and impartial judge, a mentor and role model for all to follow. May the angels lead him into paradise.

Kenneth F. Holbert,Esq. Bedford and I attended The National Bar Association Convention at Dilard University, New Orleans in 1953. We traveled to California with our client about 1955. He was one of the groomsmen in my wedding. I last visited him with Russeau and Sparks last year. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church at the old site. Louis was one of my best friends. He was a pallbearer at my mothers funeral along with Attorney Durham, Turner , Bunkley His mother and father were wellknown on the corner of Thomas and Hall. He had a lemonade stand in his front yad as a boy which we visited on our newspaper route. My fondest memories of Dallas ivolve him We often talked on his visits to Washington.
