Mrs. Crume was my first teacher at Hocakday when I began in 3rd grade in the Rotunda. She set the bar high. A gifted educator.
LOVED her !!

Marion was my first teacher I had at Hockaday and what a wonderful beginning to my life there! It was such a gift to be one of her students and, years later when I returned to teach there, one of her co-workers.
She managed to inspire and made learning fun, she created a safe and accepting classroom where each of us felt special, she was truly a master teacher.
Mrs. Crume was truly one of a kind!

What a beautiful spirit and soul - Mrs. Crume was my 3rd grade teacher, my first year at Hockaday in 1972. She made Hockaday my place and it may not have been without her. After I graduated, I probably had not seen her in 15 years and walked into her office one day and she immediately called me by my name. The angels have a new member of their tribe.

Chris, I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to be present for the service for your mother today (I only found out about it this morning) and that I won't be able to attend the memorial at Hockaday School on June 14th. I am recovering from cardiovascular surgery.

I grew up in Grandfalls with "Cousin Marion" and other members of her family as constant companions. Her mother ("Aunt Marion") was my Sunday School teacher. Marion left a remarkable legacy in Grandfalls-Royalty High School as valedictorian of her graduating class, oboist in the high school band, etc. I'll never forget an occasion when Nancy (soprano), Marion (alto), a tenor, and a bass sang "Now the Day Is Over." It was the first time I had ever heard anything sung in four-part harmony, and I was greatly impressed.

I am mourning your Mother's passing.

Bill
