RIOS, Dahlia Elvia CARROLLTON - Dahlia Elvia Rios passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, surrounded by loved ones. A private memorial service will be held in Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to The Women's Center of Tarrant County, or flowers donated to a church of your choice. Dahlia was born in Seguin to Esther and Santos G. Rios. As her father faithfully served in the U.S. Air Force, Dahlia had the opportunity to experience an exciting life attending school throughout the world, including California, Oklahoma, North Dakota, the Philippines Islands and finally Texas. Dahlia graduated from Minot High School, Minot, North Dakota, and attended Los Angeles City College and Dallas Community College. She loved her family, always taking time to care for family and friends and helping everyone she knew. She is a cherished aunt to her many nieces and nephews. They always knew that they could call on their Aunt Dolly at any time for guidance, a word of encouragement, advice, or simply to hear her say that she loved them unconditionally, and that she did. Dahlia enjoyed a very successful career, most notably working for Mobile Oil Corporation in the geophysical department, and as a manager at various local financial institutions. As a supervisor, the well-being and caring of the many people with whom she worked was always Dahlia's priority. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and volunteered countless hours of service for the Women's Center of Tarrant County. Dahlia loved her Maltese dogs, Sammy and Zoe, who held a special place in her heart, and they, in turn, were her loyal companions. The family would like to thank Dr. Enrique Perez and his staff at Texas Oncology for the kind and compassionate care they provided to Dahlia. During her courageous struggle with multiple myeloma she never complained about the pain she endured in her valiant fight against the disease. Dahlia will be remembered for her generosity and loving spirit. Words cannot describe the loss we feel with the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, yet we are comforted knowing she is now without pain and living in the Kingdom of God, where we will all be reunited in time. Dahlia was preceded in death by her adoring father, Santos G. Rios. Survivors: Mother, Esther Rios; sister, Rachael (Tim) Bartels; brothers, Jimmie (Terri) Rios and Robert (Denise Wilson) Rios; nephews, Shaun and Steven Rios; nieces, Amber Rios-Saal, Allison Bartels, Nicole Bartels, Emily Rios, Brenna Bartels, Rachael Rios and Isabelle Rios.

Dahlia and her sweet mama brightened our clinic with their smiles and fabulous attitudes in the midst of Dahlia's horrible disease. She taught us a lot about grace. Thank you so much for sharing her with Texas Oncology.
