I only learned June 9, 2017 of your passing.
We had good memories from Robert E Lee high school in Tyler and later years when we both lived in Plano. Fun times at Lake Palestine on Reunion weekends were had by all!
You were a good friend and I wish I had stayed in touch.
You are missed,
Cathy Simpson Hanson

Rest in Peace buddy. You were one of my favorites at Robert E. Lee.

I first met Richard around 1960. We went to different schools, but we had mutual friends, so we were in contact frequently. After high school, we both ended up at Tyler Junior College, studying drafting. On
June 5, 1967 we started our drafting careers at Brown and Root in Houston. Richard had the desire to teach and left Houston to pursue his dream. Through the years I only saw him on occasions like a high school reunion. Even then, we would have a great time catching up with each other. I valued his friendship and I will think of him often.
