Dear Carol, Marge, Barbara and all extended family. There are wonderful and sincere entries in this guest book and I feel privileged to add my own. "Uncle" Rudy lived up to the title. I'll never forget his encouraging words when he would see me playing basketball in the parking lot up at St. James as a middle schooler. And how he expanded my musical horizons playing his Django records. One of the best musical shows I ever saw was Django's partner from the 1930's Stephane Grappelli playing violin with other acoustic jazz/bluegrass players at My Father's Place in Roslyn. It's too bad I did not have an extra ticket or he would have been my guest. Olfactory memories are very real, and when I close my eyes I can clearly smell the aroma of his tiny cigars. Rest in Peace Uncle Rudy - Ken Mace

Rudy, it was an honor having Carol and you as a neighbor, watching you during the various seasons mowing your lawn, shoveling the snow. always with a cigar. and later in life with one leg, and the kindness that your family showed to ours, will always be an inspiration as we get older and always remembered. Our prayers and thoughts go our to Carol and the family.

Carol, Barbra, Marjorie, Lana- Please know that my thoughts & prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Rudy was loved by all. There are so many memories with my parents on Coleridge Street and Taylor Ave. and all the many fun trips they took together. He was funny and unique. I think it was Rudy (or maybe my father) who decided they were members of the SOI (Sons of Immigrants). They had so many laughs together. So many memories- walking all over (even to Wantagh Station), smoking his cigar, reading constantly, joking about Spats near Harry & Marie's, cruises & trips with Jean & Ed and on and on. His love & laughter will always be with us- Katie Schwabach

My sincere condolences. Rudy was always my favorite neighbor. I couldn't state it any better than Mark did. He was just fun to be around. My father had a great friendship with him that I know he cherished.
