Chip was my Saturday Harley riding best friend! I miss him every day.

Chip was my little brother's best friend in high school. They were so tight. When I got home from the Navy, they welcomed me into their clique, which included Betty Crawford Smiley, Sam Kimbrough, and occasionally Rick Dunn. My little brother decided to check out of this world shortly after I got home, and this bunch took me in', which was no small condolence, and helped me greatly to get through that trauma. Chip especially. I will always be grateful for that, and knowing Chip was a real pleasure. Hardly ever a disparaging word, he did absolutely irradiate people with his kindness and his smile. I knew both his parents, and see where he got his demeanor. He did have a good life, and mine has been better for knowing him.

Chip Fowler was President of our club. Chip Fowler was a long-term Toast Master. Chip Fowler was my friend.

The news of his passing stunned me. I was, and still am, shocked. Looking through newly sober eyes, the world seems a little less brighter.

Chip was many things to many people, and led a rich and vibrant life. In many ways, he was the embodiment of the Toast Masters spirit. He gave graciously of his time and talent. He was often the first to volunteer and could be counted on to fill in at a moments noticed. Chip came to play.

Chip was well-liked and well-respected by all of the club members. He inspired people not only through his words, but through his deeds as well. Although he is no longer with us, he will continue to inspire me. I will miss his laugh, his dry sense of humor and the air of joy he imparted every time I came into contact with him.

Chip Fowler was my friend. Rest in peace.
