To The O'Neil Family:
I am writing this brief note to your family because I so deeply feel that when we are faced with the sudden loss of someone so very dear to us that it is one of the hardest things in our lives we will have to face. Yet, I would like to share with you something that touched my heart, it is the knowledge that God will respond to our persistent prayers to help us through any tough time such as this. At Philippians 4:6 and 7 it says that "the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your heart and your mental powers." Please know that my prayers are with you at this time and I urge you to continue to pray for strength to get through the rough moments ahead.

To The Family of Daniel O'Neil-Please accept my condolences to your family.Know that you can gain comfort from the scriptures.Almighty God Jehovah has the power to resurrect our loved ones, for John 5:28,29 tells us:"Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice  and come out." Please know that Jehovah does care about you & may you take comfort from His Word during this most difficult time.

Deepest sympathy to your family.
April 29, 2007
Dear O'Neill Family,
From our family to yours, we send the deepest of sympathy. Jeanne, we were away when we heard of Daniel's passing. My father, Ray Mendillo, is still away and sends his deepest sympathy as well. We could not believe what had happened and when we found out your son was involved, we were even more shocked and saddened. May wonderful memories of him and the love and support of family and friends, give you the strength to get through the upcoming days, weeks, months, and years. You are all in our prayers and thoughts.
Once again we are sorry we weren't home to be there to support you.
Our love,
Marla(Mendillo)Barrett & Family

Dear Mr. and Mrs. O'Neil: I am a Virginia Tech grad, Class of 1983, and live in Medfield, MA now. I am so sorry for your loss and have cried many tears for your son Dan and for the other members of the VT community that perished on April 16, 2007. My sister graduated VT in 1984 and my brother in law graduated VT in 1985. All three of us had wonderful memories of life in Blacksburg. We hope that you son got to enjoy life down in Virginia while he was there. We are so sorry that his life ended in such a tragic manner. My he always rest in the hands of God.

Bill and Jeanne, my thoughts are with you and your family during this horrible tragedy.

A good family that tries to do everything right to raise top notch children, should never have to suffer such a loss. Take comfort in knowing Dan's goodness will live on in others.
