Dan Trant played basketball in Ireland for one year. He did not play with my team but guested with us in a number of tournaments. The aura of this wonderful gentleman was nothing but positive. We loved having him play with us. I worked in the area where he lived. At lunchtimes,on occasions, you would see him walking along the street with this eternal smile & a bounce in his step. We loved having around our team even though he was signed to one of our opposing team. He has passed on now but his character, personality, kindness & positiveness will live forever. His family,I have no doubt, are very proud of this wonderful man

Another year, Dan, my love. #12...isn't that appropriate. You'd be so pleased at the ceremonies and tributes paid to Tara, Brian and you by your friends in Westfield. You were the source of great pride to us in life, and your legacy lives on. Rest in peace, dear heart. Love forever, Mom

12 years. I can't believe it has been that long. 12 had a special meaning since both of us wore #12 in college. Of course, when you offered me $20 to switch numbers you knew my answer. I miss you buddy and as always you will remain bigger than life to me even in death. It was an honor to know you. It was more of an honor to call you my friend.

The years pass so swiftly but today we pause to remember and give thanks for Daniel Trant, recalling his life for the way it was lived rather than the manner of his passing.
Even though we weren't privileged to know Dan in his lifetime, we're fortunate to know of him and his loving family and friends, and that's a blessing. Mary, from our home and family to yours - warmest regards from Kim

I will never forget. Where I was. Who I was with. Those murdered. Those never found. Those who tried to help. Those lost trying to help. Those who have suffered - whether from loss, or cancer from trying to help.

Please take the time to remember. Remember the people - our friends and neighbors. Remember the memorial services. The pain. Remember the feeling of community. Remember the pride. Remember the flags.

Please also take time to remember all of the great stories about all of our friends. Re-tell them. Re-live them. Tell your kids. Tell your friends and neighbors. Tell strangers. Don't let them be forgotten. Don't let it ever happen. Never.

Finally, be thankful for all that we still have. Hug your kids, your family, your friends. Never let them go. Tell them you love them everyday. Life is so short. Let those who have gone before us be a reminder that you never know when this wonderful ride will be over. Don't let them wonder what your feelings were.

Miss you, Dan.

Dan, my dear boy, Again this year we spent the 11th with friends and family at the Sons of Erin in Westfield. My thanks to the Sons and Auxiliary, to the City of Westfield, Fire Dept., Police Dept., American Legion Post 124, the boys on the bagpipes, and so many I may have forgotten to mention. You always welcome us home and bring comfort to the Trant, Creamer- Shea, and Murphy families every year. Dan, your good friends around the world haven't forgotten what a terrific guy you were. We love you. Rest in peace. See you in the near future. Love, Mom
