It's amazing how someone I never knew still managed to touch my family's life in so many ways.

I was thinking about David and his family today and wish I had the chance to know him.

Dear Mrs. Winton and Sara,
Even though 4 years have passed, we still never forget. We continue to keep you close to our hearts and in our prayers forever and always.

I came across a 9/11 article and thought of David. I knew David through mutual friends and fondly remember sharing meals and social gatherings with him. He was always a a great deal of fun, a perfect gentleman, and incredibly witty. Best wishes to his family and Amy.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I am writing a story about the David H. Winton Memorial Scholarship for one of Fordham's publications, and the more information I gather about David, the more I come to know what a profound loss was endured on September 11th. From ALL accounts, David was a wonderful man — intelligent, kind, funny, thoughtful, successful. I hope your fond memories of him serve to comfort you in your times of sorrow. My deepest condolences.

Dear Joan and Sarah,
Even though I live in Florida now, I still often think of you and the other families that I spoke with after 9-11-01. Your compassion and strength inspired me to get through a time when I needed to be strong for others. I hope you will notify me of future benefits in honor of David so that I can express to you how much you and David have touched my life. Hope all is well.

God Bless,
Carolyn Cocola

Joan, Sara, and Amy,

Today I sat in front of the television, and cried. A vivid memory of a horrific tragedy to our country, and a continuous suffering for the families of the loved one's lost on 9/11.

I hold close in my heart many prayers for you. I share your loss. Though I did not know David, I feel close as my family lives in the area. This just hits so close to home, and pains my heart. I was shattered the moment this tragedy was aired, and again through the years I am still reminded of the pain felt by you, that we will never understand. I can not imagine walking the journey of life without my loved one's with me. I send my condolences to your family forever you will remain in my thoughts and prayers.
