To the family of Cpl. David P. McCormick:
Please know that just as your loved one remains in your hearts and minds; his sacrifice, and that of your family, remains with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. God bless and keep you always.

CPL McCormick,
I have never been one to write or say things in the memory of our fallen comrades. I could never find the words to say what was always on my mind, and sadly enough it has taken me over 2 years to find the words to say. It was truely an honor to have had you in my Platoon during that deployment. I will never forget you and your friendly personality. To this day I still feel a high sense of responsibilty to your loss and constantly go back to the day you left our platoon....I will always wish to go back to that point in time. I wish I had fought harder to keep you in my Platoon. I just constantly feel that if I had fought harder to keep you in the Platoon then you would still be here with us today. I know you are in a better place, waiting to see all the old faces you use to see again...
