I remember as a Kid meeting Carl when he moved three houses down from me in Centerville and how I loved all those little race Cars.

Most of all I remember how kind he was and how nice his family was.
God bless Carl and his entire family.

I just learned of Carl's passing. We worked together at WHLO in 1970. He was one of the "Good Guys," on HLO... but no one was as genuinely good-hearted as Carl. With Steve Fullerton (RIP) he lit up the mornings for Akron-Canton with his wit, his intelligence, and at time - memorable silliness. Condolences to Carl's family.

I give my condolences to the Day family left behind. While watching him for many years on the news I had the pleaseure to meet him one day while he was spending time with one of his granddaughters at a daycare she used to attend. He will be missed but he hurts no more. God Bless!

Carl Day was a man of interigity, giving of himself totally. The community will not be the same without his smiling face and the friendliness that he had. Unfortunately I never got the privilege of meeting him person. But watched him on Channel 2. Heaven has another angel. God be with your family in this sad time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Carl Day in the 1990s. I was attending school and Tina Rezash took the class to visit on set with Carl, at that point I had met other news media individuals and quite frankly I was expecting the usual ego etc. NOT the case with Mr. Day he spent a lot of time with our group answering questions, reminiscing about his career, he was very warm, friendly and funny. He told us stories of what could be embarrassing miscues and that it is the nature of live television, such a wonderful sense of humor, the ability to chuckle at oneself is a rare thing, and he didn't mind sharing a few of his own moments.

I will always remember him as a kind man who took time to sit on set with our small group and talk to us, not at us.

What you saw on air was who he was, a genuinely nice man.
