I didnt have Coach as my teacher or coach at Patterson-but he still took time out to know all of the students at Co-op. He was a great mentor, a great teacher, and great human being. His legacy will live on and he will never be forgotten.

Wow. Buff. Wags. Wally. God is putting together an all-star coaching staff. I met Wally as a senior when I was at Dayton Christian and he helped me in the long jump. When I coached at Xenia and Mount Notre Dame, those three men served as a mentor to me and friend - while always reminding me their kids would whup my kids. It kept me prepared as a coach and I used them as a measuring stick to my coaching success. Wally always taught me the most important thing as a coach was to end your season at the 'Shoe...site of the old state meet. It became my manta as a coach and continues to this day. In fact, now that I have a full beard - a little more salt than pepper - I think of how he rocked the salt-and-pepper style and always kidded him for it since he was in his late 40's early 50's. That was swag b4 swag was cool. I am grateful and blessed to have known Wally, Buff, and Wags. Our Dayton track coaching fraternity is a little bit smaller today, but I am sure Heaven is pleased with its new staff. God bless. From the best-dressed coach in Ohio, now putting it down in Indiana. Always representing Dayton! Coach Kirven K.O. Jackson

The greatest track athlete in Ohio history.

My condolences to the family of Coach Wallace.

He was my coach in high school and I still talk about how he beat me in a race wearing gym shoes while I wore spikes and used starting blocks. I had been mouthing off.

We all saw first hand, the man who won the state title in track for Dunbar by himself, what world class speed looked like.

May God bless

I was one of many kids coach Wallace insisted run on his team. Not because he saw any special athleticism, but instead he was ensuring I stayed off the streets of Dayton. He did this for boys and I'm so thankful he also did it for us girls. Without his mentoring and the exposure to Patterson track and cross country I know the Air Force would not be a career choice. I used what he taught in athletics my entire 20 year career and never looked back on running those streets. To the family my sincere condolences Dayton lost a good man, your family lost a Great Man, and heaven gained a true angel.
