Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Snow Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

To the Family of
Army Spc. Jesse A. Snow

I wish I had the right words to say at this time, but I know there are none. I grieve for the loss of your beloved son and I know that I cannot fathom the pain you must be feeling. Your son will not be forgotten and what he did to help protect our homeland and our freedoms. It was his life that made him a Hero. It was his noble path that made him an American Hero. It was his ultimate sacrifice that made him a Fallen Hero. May God carry him to Heaven on His precious wings and give him a palace to live in. I pray that our Heavenly Father above will grace you with His love, His comfort and His peace. Heaven's Gates now has a new handsome Soldier standing guard. Amen.

Dear Snow family,

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Jesse will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you.

I salute you.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to SPC Jesse Snow our Brother-in-Arms . To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Jesse. And to Jesse it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Jesse, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,335 military Legionnaire Veterans of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Jesse’s family and loved ones.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the family: Thank you for the opportunity to honor and show respect for your son and his contributions to our great country. With heavy heart and teary eyes, I wish it hadn't been this way. Certainly, his was a life taken way too soon.

To everyone: After the funeral had started, I drove down the road. I was amazed at how many people lined the sides of the road with flags in hand and signs of support, especially since there was such a cold hard rain that wasn't going to end, all wanting to honor and show respect for Jesse as well. To all of those people, and all that picked up a flag and stood in line with us at the visitation and/or funeral, or contributed in some way, thank you very much. It is great to know that there are so many that care so much.

Chief Snow and family, Our prayers and thoughts are with you in your time of sorrow. Jesse was a fine man and served his county well. He fought for the right of freedom, the right for little girls in afghanistan to go to school each day without being at risk of being killed by those who stood in their way. Many soldiers like himself lay their lives on the lines each and everyday for people in a country they have never met, or have no connection to. But they do it because everyone has the right to live free. Jesse left the world we know as a hero, he gave his all to protect the freedoms he so valiantly fought for. Rest in peace young soldier, your missions here on earth are complete. We thank you for your service to our Country and to all of us. The country is indebted to him for his extreme sacrifice. I hope that the tremendous outpouring of support will validate the high regard that everyone has for this fallen soldier. May God give you peace and comfort during this time.

The young dead soldiers do not speak.
Nevertheless, they are heard in the still houses: who has not heard them?
They have a silence that speaks for them at night and when the clock counts.
They say: We were young. We have died.
Remember us. They say: We have done what we could but until it is finished it is not done. They say: We have given our lives but until it is finished no one can know what our lives gave. They say: Our deaths are not ours:
they are yours, they will mean what you make them.
They say: Whether our lives and our deaths were for peace and a new hope or for nothing we cannot say, it is you who must say this.
We leave you our deaths. Give them their meaning.
We were young, they say. We have died;
remember us God bless this young man "My brother" he gave his all
I will remember him in my prayers his work is complete now ours is not
we must remember him for always

Unselfishly, you left your fathers and your mothers, You left behind your sisters and your brothers.
Leaving your beloved children and wives, You put on hold, your dreams—your lives.

On foreign soil, you found yourself planted To fight for those whose freedom you granted.
Without your sacrifice, their cause would be lost But you carried onward, no matter the cost.

Many horrors you had endured and seen. Many faces had haunted your dreams.
You cheered as your enemies littered the ground; You cried as your brothers fell all around.

When it was over, you all came back home, Some were left with memories to face all alone;
Some found themselves in the company of friends As their crosses cast shadows across the land.

Those who survived were forever scarred Emotionally, physically, permanently marred.
Those who did not now sleep eternally ‘Neath the ground they had given their lives to keep free.

With a hand upon my heart, I feel The pride and respect; my reverence is revealed
In the tears that now stream down my upturned face As our flag waves above you, in her glory and grace.
Freedom was the gift that you unselfishly gave Pain and death was the price that you ultimately paid.
Every day, I give my utmost admiration To those who had fought to defend our nation.
Thank you for being so brave May you rest in peace OUR AMERICAN HERO

what a horrible loss. i lost a son when he was just 16, and i still have not made sense of the "why him" questions that run thru my mind. He was always doing what was right as i am sure your son was, and i just can't understand how the world is a better place without him. my deepest sympathies go to your family, friends and coworkers at this time. you never realize how many friends you really have until a tragedy strikes. if you ever feel you need to talk to someone who undertands the emotions you are going thru, please contact me. God Bless you all and give you comfort.

November 18, 2010
My heart broke when I heard of the Snow family tradegy, having lost a son at 15, I can relate very well to the unbearable pain of literally feeling your heart breaking. But as I read more about this remarkable family my heart began to swell with pride and love, Jesse died fighting for what he believed in and from my understanding died trying to save another soldier's life. One of my biggest fears when my son died was he would not be remembered, he was so young, rest assured that Jesse will live on forever in the hearts of many. RIP JESSE SNOW. Jan and John, be proud you guys did a helluva job raising such an outstanding family.

I lost my older brother when I was 6, you never REALLY get over it, just used to them not being there. Jesse was a great kid, with a kind heart, a great sense of humor, and one of the smoothest bald heads I have ever felt!

To the Snow family, I have know Jesse since Junior High School, he has always been a very loving person. While him preparing to go he gave me great history and geographical lessons, he was very proud of what he was doing. Though we were never able to get together on his trips home, we talked frequently. He loved and cherished you all very much. I was very envious of the close knit family you have. You raised a great man and he will truly be missed, my heart aches greatly so I can not begin to imagine the pain you feel. I am very honored and proud to be able to say that he was my friend

My son, LT Andrew Palizay, served as Jesse Snow's platoon leader for the last 21 months, first at Fort Campbell and then in Afghanistan. Andrew just switched to Company XO 3 weeks ago, so he was not on the final mission with Jesse. But he was at COP Honaker listening to it unfold and feeling the pain with his men; and he sent an email to us expressing his shock and sorrow at the loss (3 soldiers KIA and 3 soldiers WIA from the platoon on that one mission). Andrew and Jesse spent a lot of time together in training and in fighting. Andrew felt a special affinity for Jesse, and so I have pictures of your son on my computer that Andrew sent to me. My boy feels the loss deeply, he loved your son as a friend and as a comrade in arms. May God's grace, mercy and peace be on you in this time of sorrow. Your son paid the ultimate price for the defense of our freedom and now your family bears a heavy burden. We send our deepest symapthy and gratitude. We salute your son as a fallen hero.
November 17, 2010

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
