When I was fairly new around the oregon district, Piney saw me play and invited me to rehearse and play with him, and Kenny. Not to mention a bunch of other great players at the 94 Dayton blues fest. I didn't realize at the time how the experience would help my confidence and move me as a player forward. I probably still don't understand how important that was for me, but I do thank God for the experience. Rest in peace Piney Brown. One of the greatest musicians and people I was lucky enough to have met.

God Bless you Piney Brown....you`ll be missed. Enjoyed the times we worked together...especially the King tribute show at the `07 Cincinnati bluesfest. I hope I have your energy for the rest of my life.
See you down the road.....

Mr. Brown, I am glad I visited you last week. We laughed about the early days when my Momma had to send a permission note with you, so you could take me on the road. Sometimes you had to use it in Dayton to get me into clubs to play guitar for you. We had some great road trips, and even local gigs in the past couple years. Condolences to Pam and your daughter. You will find a blues band to back you up in Heaven.
