News Death Notice
CRABILL, Robert A. "Bob" Age 95, of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2014. He was born July 2, 1918, to Clarence A. and Lena M. (Bader) Crabill in Dayton, Ohio. He was a graduate of Chaminade High School, Class of 1936. He served in the United States Army during WWII, including the invasion of North Africa. He retired from DELCO Products, as the Materials Supervisor in the Engineering Model Shop. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. (Aikman) Crabill. He is survived by his sons, John (Peggy) Crabill and Matt Crabill; and granddaughters Christine Crabill, Beth Klein, and Abby Crabill; his great grand dog Angel. He was a devoted grandfather, his granddaughters brought him much joy. Bob will be missed by the many friends he made over his lifetime, both around Beavercreek and around Indian Lake. He was known as "Grandpa Bob" to many, because of his caring and generous nature which made everyone feel welcome. He was very active and loved fishing with many state awards, playing euchre, and spending time with family and friends. He derived much strength and comfort from attending St. Luke's Catholic Church in Beavercreek, where he was a member since 1957. A special thanks to Hospice of Dayton staff, the Sterling House and his special aide "drill Sgt Courtney Clevinger". The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 26 at Tobias Funeral Home- Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, 27 February at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Beavercreek. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. My condolences to the family of Mr. Crabill. I know his granddaughter Christine and she used to share many funny stories about her beloved Grandfather.I never got to met him personally but I felt like I knew him because of Christine. There is something so wonderful to know that Grandfather's like the one I had are still spreading love and knowledge. I know he will be missed and my heart is full of pain for Christine.
