REST IN PEACE STAN. ALWAYS A GREAT PLAYER AND GREAT EXAMPLE OF WHAT A PRO ATHLETE SHOULD BE. YOU ARE THE MAN.
January 20, 2013
The year was 1963 & The LA Dodgers had a 3 game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals & they were set to play a 3 game series to determine who will go to the World Series vs the NY Yankees. In game # 1 The score was tied 1-1 when Tommy Davis led off the bottom of the 9th with a game winning homerun, Gm # 2 saw the Dodgers once again win thanks to a homerun hit by rookie Dick Nen in his first Major league game. The Dodgers won game 3 and swept the series knocking the Carinals out of contetntion. The Dodgers beat the Yankees 4-0 to win the World Series. Stan the Man, Sandy Koufax & the late Don Drysdale were the big players for both teams when the Dodgers played the Cardinals. How ironic it was Stan's last season & the following season The Cardinals played the Yankees in the 64 World Series & beat them 4-3.Stan missed by one year of getting another ring. A true icon who will be missed by his loyal teammates, friends & Family.
Stan will always be remembered by the way he wiggled his fanny when batting at the plate.

Stan "The Man" Musial showed everyone how it should be done...as an athlete and as a man. May he rest in peace, and may God Bless his family and all those close to him!

You can not grow up in St. Louis and not love Stan the Man...I came from a family of Cardinals fans...still have his picture from going to Stan and Biggies...where he would greet all the tables, especially if there were kids...he seemed larger than life to me! My sympathies to the Musial family. Powodzenia, Stan!!
